"Las Residencias Musicales" (Musical Residencies) is a project of the Portillo International Music Festival Academy, which is a musical ecosystem created for young instrumentalists to have the opportunity to work side by side with professional musicians. A totally innovative project that will allow young musicians to have a close experience with professionals especially invited for each residency. Within this musical ecosystem they will work on: individual preparation for rehearsals; learning to communicate with the other members of the group; learning rehearsal methodologies, learning how to face a chamber music piece, what questions to ask, how to solve musical and non-musical challenges and serve the community through music.

Aimed at young talents, who are invited to apply for chamber music residencies with the maestra Alejandra Urrutia, artistic and musical director of the Portillo International Music Festival and Academy.

 

There will be three annual residencies, each with a specific programme, which will end with concerts in different places in the region.

 

FIRST RESIDENCE

The first residency will take place from Monday 26th to Thursday 29th April 2021 (both days inclusive). Students should arrive on Monday before noon and finish on Thursday after the concert.

 

The first Music Residency will take place in the Ñuble region at the Hotel EcoBox Andino, which is a mountain refuge in the Valle de las Trancas, Comuna de Pinto, Chillán, Ñuble Region.

 

The students will have a full scholarship that includes: accommodation, food and transportation within the Ñuble Region. The scholarship does not include transportation to Chillán.

MODALITY

The repertoire will be worked on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then a rehearsal open to the public will be held, plus two concerts in the Ñuble Region and one concert in Santiago.
